Wellington is the capital of New Zealand, and its 390,000 residents makes it the third largest city in the country. The city of Wellington and the entire country of New Zealand used the New Zealand dollar as its currency. Wellington holidays are located on the ocean, with its mild weather and attractions making it a very popular tourist destination.
Wellington features a marine climate which allows it to never have temperatures that are too hot or too cold. The city experiences spring between September and November. During this time the high temperature will average between 14 and 16°C. The summer months will see the high temperatures reach 20-21 °C. The coolest time in Wellington is between June and August. During this time the average high temperatures are around 12°C. It is very rare for the temperatures to go below freezing, and it has not snowed in Wellington since 1995.
One of the main tourist attraction in Wellington is Te Papa, which is the national museum of New Zealand. All of the artifacts and exhibitions reveal different parts of the history of New Zealand. With 10 exhibitions and 27000 historical artifacts, Te Papa receives over 1 million visitors each year.
The striving art scene is also a must see when visiting Wellington. There will always be a place to see some local films, art, dance, theater or music whenever you visit the city. Wellington also has several different festival celebrating the New Zealand culture throughout the year.
All of this is and more is why Wellington is the most visited city in New Zealand.
